Chief Digital & Technology Officer, Alpha Bank

Mr. Michalis Tsarbopoulos is a senior executive with over two decades of experience in the Banking and Management Consulting industries in Greece. He currently serves as the Chief Digital & Technology Officer and Executive Committee member at Alpha Bank, a position he assumed in July 2025. In this capacity, he leads the bank's technology transformation by driving innovation, leveraging AI, strengthening IT and security, and ensuring a strong link between technology and business value. He initially joined Alpha Bank in December 2021 as Chief Digital Officer, where he spearheaded the organization's digital transformation.

Prior to his current role, he spent 14 years at Eurobank, progressing through key leadership positions including Head of Wholesale Strategic Planning, Head of Global Transaction Banking, and ultimately Group Chief Digital Officer, where he was in charge of leading the digital transformation in the organization. His career in the banking sector began in 2007 at HSBC plc Greece, where he served as Manager of Strategic Initiatives. He started his professional journey as a management consultant at the Boston Consulting Group, leading various strategy projects both in Greece and abroad.

Mr. Tsarbopoulos holds an MBA from the Simon School of Business of the University of Rochester and a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens
