Tasos Economou

Tasos Economou is a digital storyteller, journalist, and media expert who extensively researches the intersection of communication and technology. His focus lies in social media, digital storytelling, transmedia projects, and data journalism.

With decades of experience in top-tier Greek media, he recently served as the Head of Digital for "Ta Nea" and previously spent five years as the Director of Digital (News Division) at ERT (Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation). His extensive background also includes senior editorial and digital management roles at ETHNOS, CNN Greece, To Potami, and Kathimerini.gr, where he served as the Online Managing Editor for over nine years.

Alongside his journalistic career, since 2012, he has been teaching Web Journalism and Digital Storytelling for the MA Programme "Quality Journalism and New Technologies" (in collaboration with Danube University Krems). His expertise encompasses newsroom convergence, SEO, crowdsourcing, and the integration of new technologies in modern media.
